Ruth House Mission Statement:
Our Mission at the Ruth House is to provide women with transitional shelter to weather the storm of crisis, to help women discover their own strength, a the hope to reach beyond their circumstances through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
It is our desire to help women discover their own strength, and hope to reach beyond their circumstances through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We are committed to work with women to help achieve this goal while providing a stable structured environment in which women may learn to control their own lives and begin to live life on life’s terms.
Our goal is to help women focus on recovering from the crisis through a new or renewed understanding of their identity in Christ. At Ruth House we strive to help women gain the tools of recovery through living in community. This goal is accomplished through our “New Life recovery Program” the program is based on 3 phases of goals and gained privileges. Each can expect to be in our program six months to a year. Our recovering family style environment provides a beautiful, nurturing, loving home to help remove the feelings of loneliness, shame, despair and isolation. We accomplish this goal through the following building blocks:
- Relationship: The first building block of relationship at Ruth house is compassion; understanding the heart of the hurting and providing a safe environment that encourages open and honest communication. Each woman who enters Ruth House agrees to be as transparent as she is able and to participate in the daily schedule and learning opportunities designed to give her a greater understanding of who she is, how she was created and how to walk in freedom and peace. This is done through a series of phases. As she walks through each phase character change begins signifying that healing is truly taking place.
- Community Building: In part learning to have authentic relationship requires the women of Ruth House to step beyond the community of home (Ruth House) and to explore other avenues to healthy living. Support systems must be established prior to exiting and are built through agencies such as small group’s church civic groups, AA, NA and other outside fellowship opportunities.
- People over policies: While we have policies and procedures in place that give guidance to how we do what we do, we will always consider individual differences that may require us to make exceptions to particular policy on a case by case basis to allow a woman in crisis to benefit from our help.
Statement of Faith
We believe that Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments in their original texts, are fully inspired by the Holy Spirit, without error, and are the final authority for the church.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the absolute deity and full humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, the authenticity of His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His present mediatorial work in heaven.
We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit. He gives life, He sanctifies, he empowers, and comforts all believers.
We believe that man was originally created sinless. Tempted by Satan, man fell and thereby brought the whole race under the condemnation of eternal separation from God.
We believe that man is saved through the finished work of Christ. Justification is through grace alone.
We believe that the Church is the Body of Jesus Christ composed of all true believers. The present work of the Church is the worship of God, the perfecting of the saints, and the evangelization of the world.
We believe in the personal and bodily return of the Lord Jesus Christ to consummate our salvation and establish His glorious Kingdom.
